Journal Entry: Dear Sam
Dear Sam,
So, it’s been a couple weeks since I hit the road, and now the calls are starting to roll in. Word’s out that “Jim Hetfield” is the new Bobby Singer on the circuit. I’m betting Jody and Garth have been passing my number around, ‘cause I’m hearing from new hunters, too. Looks like Krissy and her crew are moving up in the world. Good to see them stepping up, but still sucks that we gotta have another generation out there hunting things.
Oh, and get this: there's an app called "Venmo," and it ain’t a dating app. The kid next door set me up on it and showed me how it works. Some of the new hunters are sending me cash whenever I toss them some lore or back them up with the authorities. It ain’t exactly gonna pay the bills, but it’s something. Maybe I’m onto a side hustle here.
Anyway, I’ve had three pies in the last two days. One was apple, one was a jello shot, and the last one was some monstrosity made with Malort. I can vouch for the first two, but I’d like to exorcise from the world.
And, by the way, the astrophysicist brought me pie at work.
Pretty sure she’s into me.
Also, I hear retired folks really get into knitting. That your new gig? Got a nice collection of yarn and needles going? Just steer clear of that acrylic crap. I hear it’s itchy as hell.
